SUNCREAM is the new BLACK

Updated: Apr 21

You may have noticed that we advise people to protect themselves from the sun on all our courses. We are always surprised how carelessly people expose themselves to the sun. The island of Sal, our jewel of the Cape Verde Islands, is known for its beautiful beaches, azure waters and ideal conditions for water sports such as kitesurfing, surfing and wing foiling. And that's why you shouldn't forget the importance of effective sun protection during your exciting adventure on the water.

We are exposed to the sun in combination with salt water daily and see everything from mild sunburn to blisters after our courses! Yes, we are also enthusiastic and love life on the beach, but we know exactly what it means for the eyes, skin and hair to be constantly sunbathed in combination with the sea: We passionately love not only what we do, but we do it with you! So protect yourself!

The sun's rays on the island of Sal are particularly intense as the island is close to the equator. As a water sports enthusiast, you are particularly at risk as water reflects UV rays and therefore puts additional strain on the skin. Insufficient sun protection can lead to painful sunburns, premature skin ageing and an increased risk of skin cancer.
