ISLAND KITE SCHOOL SUPPORT KIMOV

As island kids, we love the sea, the sun and the sand on our skin - but we love surfing and kitesurfing even more. Whether we learned to walk or surf first - you'll be able to guess: We still debate the question today - with a lot of endurance and passion! We are also love to share our enthusiasm for all kinds of water sports with people. Whether absolute beginners or advanced surfers who want to kiteboard or need a few tricks for jumping, we love to share our knowledge.

Since our childhood we have more or less self-taught our knowledge and skills around the different water sports. Many hours of practicing - falling and “getting up” again - have gone into our current lessons, jumps and tricks.

Like everywhere else in the world, tourism plays a major role in shaping the prospects of the local people in Cape Verde, especially on the islands of Boa Vista and Sal. So at some point it was the logical next step for us to pursue our passion as a profession in order to build a future on the island. Over the past few years, we have not only opened our own local kite and surf school, we have also successfully established it. Now, as a local kite and surf school, we are also looking for new team members and can offer young people a perspective on Sal.

We would also like to welcome women/girls to our team of instructors. However, we have noticed that there are significantly fewer women/girls in water sports in general, and on Sal in particular. This is despite the fact that there is no shortage of water and opportunities here.

It was therefore a matter of course for us to support KIMOV's “Wind of change” initiative. The initiative enables girls/women to take kite and surf lessons. Part of the costs for the lessons are financed by donations (5 €) and the other part is covered by us.

So if you are interested in supporting the initiative, please contact us!
