Our courses

Hello everyone, we look forward to accompanying your child on a successful surfing adventure. Learning to surf is particularly easy for children, which is why we also offer courses for children. The only important thing is that the children can swim and dive safely and without fear. Santa Maria Beach offers perfect conditions for surfers of all levels, we make sure that you feel comfortable with us. We offer flexibly bookable surf lessons according to individual ability, whether you want to stand on a surfboard for the first time or already have experience in surfing. What will your child learn in our basic surf course? In our beginner's course, children are introduced to surfing step by step, receive valuable tips on safety in the water and can benefit directly from our many years of experience here on the island of Sal. Our courses start with an introduction to surfing theory (equipment, safety instructions, weather and wave knowledge) and we practise standing up and finding your balance on the surfboard together on the beach. Then we start with your first experiences in the water and show you paddling techniques and the correct position on the surfboard. In our course, you will learn how to deal safely with currents and how to behave correctly in the water. In addition to the right technique, you will also learn how to judge waves correctly, how to fall safely and how to behave in the line-up. By the end of the course, your child will be able to surf simple waves independently, have a sound understanding of safety issues and be familiar with basic surfing techniques. Safety is our top priority, so it is very important to us that your child feels comfortable during our lessons together: please always bring a bottle of water, plenty of sun cream and sunglasses for your child - thank you!
